Born as Robert Alan Krakower on April 9^th, 1948 in Montreal, Canada, this man is known as Ra Uru Hu, Messenger, Founder, and the first Teacher of Human Design System. He spent his early years in Montreal, Canada, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, and pursued his career in the business world working as an advertising executive, magazine publisher, and media producer. He was very intelligent man and he read plenty of books, which greatly impacted his perspective on the world and people later. The arts were important to him as well, and he expressed himself as a composer and performer throughout his life. Artistic creativity was also the way to live out his melancholy, – he was very individual by Design.

In 1983, Ra left Canada and went travelling, eventually ending up in the Spanish island of Ibiza, where he has been working as a school teacher for a few years.

In January 1987, while he was still living in the island of Ibiza, he had a mystical experience of an Encounter with a “Voice”, an intelligence that was much more superior than anything he had ever experienced or perceived. The Encounter with a “Voice” lasted for eight days and nights, during which Ra was accompanied by his dog, and this was how he received a knowledge, what is known nowadays as the “Human Design System”. In 1989, after he had his Encounter with the Voice, Ra Uru Hu wrote the Rave I’Ching, which became the foundation upon which the Human Design System was founded and which was the key to unlocking the code of our Genetics. The I’Ching (or otherwise called Book of Changes) is an oldest of the Chinese classic texts, existing for over 3 000 years and used as an ancient augury tool.

Being mutated by the Encounter with the “Voice”, Ra Uru Hu experimented with explaining this knowledge to his students, and altogether he dedicated the next 25 years of his life to the development and teaching of the Human Design System throughout the world, awakening individuals to their true nature and liberating them from the burden of their Not-Self mental decision-making. He empowered many students to become HDS teachers and analysts, he taught many courses, leaving his empowerment through audio, video, and digital materials (transcribed and written). He lived with his family in the United States, Germany, and most of the time they lived together in the island of Ibiza, Spain, where he first became the Messenger of the Human Design System through Encounter with the “Voice” in January, 1987, and where he passed away in March, 2011.

I didn’t happen to meet and know Ra Uru Hu in my life, and I experience some melancholic regrets about it. But his impact is and will always be perceivable and empowering my life. Just like the words he used to finish his emails: “Love Yourself. You are unique. You have no choice”.
